ooc: NPC Crystal and Luna as they are not in game. Also using this to figure out Pietro's place in the world in relation to the Civil War, HOM and current storylines.
Crystal had come down as always, meeting Pietro at the Wundergore castle. It was a neutral spot for them both, a place where Luna knew some of the High Evolutionary's men and would go off to be with them for a bit while Pietro and Crystal talked about the future.
"Thank you for bringing her," he told his wife softly as they walked through the field outside the castle. Luna was off playing tag with two of the Men. "But you don't have to stay."
"Your world is too dangerous for her, Pietro." Crystal didn't look at her estranged husband, instead focusing her eyes on their daughter. "With the war, your father..."
"The world is a dangerous place anyway, Crystal. You can't let that stop you from living, and from letting Luna live the life we wanted for her."
"You are one to talk." She turned on him, her eyes glowing in anger. "Here you are, hiding away from the world after everything you did with Wanda. Both of you, hiding away like spurned children so that you don't have to admit what you helped do was wrong and fix it."
"I just wanted everyone to be happy, Crystal!" He did his best to keep his voice from raising.
"Including yourself? I notice in everyone's recounts of that timeframe, you didn't have a wife or child. It was Storm you were courting, wasn't it?"
Pietro looked away. "That was Wanda's doing."
"Still, it was that way." She crossed her arms. "When we married, Pietro, it was because you had this fire in you. This life. Now look at you. Everything you do is because you're trying to get someone's approval. Make someone happy. You can't be responsible for making everyone happy."
"Crystal..."
"I know you've been back at the mansion. Working as a teacher? Frost and Summers don't talk to you about what happened, I'm sure. They know you're trying for atonement, and somewhere in each of them they know how it feels and are willing to help you. But you can't just expect that the world will forget, Pietro. What you and Wanda did was wrong."
"I know that."
"Then FIX it."
It was at that moment the blackberry tucked in Pietro's pocket vibrated. Sighing, he reached into it and pulled the device out. He had rigged the thing to vibrate when e-mails with the urgent flag came through, and there was such one now... an email from Emma.
He read it quickly, confused and he unconciously paced away from Crystal and he quickly went into the internet function and pulled up the information regarding his father's attack. He lowered his head and sighed, which made Crystal move over to him.
"What's wrong?"
"You need to go," he said softly. "It's not safe here."
She looked at his blackberry and saw the news report. "Your father?"
He nodded and looked into his wife's eyes, dead serious. "I guess it's time I start to work on fixing things."
"You haven't seen him since..."
"I know. I didn't say that there wasn't alot of things that I need to fix."
Crystal nodded, and after a moment's hesitation, lifted her hand to his cheek. "Be careful, Pietro. Luna needs you."
"I will."
With that, he turned and went to his daughter, pulling her close to him and kissing her cheek. "I'm sorry, honey. Daddy has to go back to work."
"Will you come by and visit after?" Luna asked, her blue eyes bright with innocence that she still managed to have.
He ran a hand through her gold hair. He would never let anyone dare to try and hurt his daughter ever again. "If your mother says it's ok. But if not, I'll see if we can come back here."
He looked up at Crystal, and she nodded. "Come on, honey. Daddy needs to go."
Pietro hugged his daughter close, his mind focusing on her tiny body in his arms. These moments were so few, and he cherished each one. Finally, he let her go, and watched as Lockjaw, who had been sleeping in the grass, came over. Luna waved to him and blew a kiss, and then all three of the Inhumans were gone.
He took a moment to collect himself, because he was never good at letting go of his daughter when that time came. Then he pulled the blackberry back out.

Emma,
Where do you need me to be? I'm in Romania right now.
Pietro.
